Motorcycle specifications BMWK 1300 GT 2010 The power of Grand Tourisme

Touring

By modernizing its K 1200 GT with an increase in displacement and power, BMW has further improved one of the most powerful road machines it has ever created. With its 160 horsepower (8 more than the 1200 engine), the new K 1300 GT makes an even stronger claim to its lordship of the road. The Bavarian engineers have focused their work on more dynamism, more comfort and a high level of road-going excellence.

it's true that this is Béhème's preferred niche. But when the Yamaha FJR 1300 and Kawasaki 1400 GTR came out, they didn't hesitate to shake up the Bavarian stronghold. So, from evolution to improvement, the GT series has arrived at this K 1300. Powered by the same 4-cylinder engine as its S cousin, the big tourer is entitled to less power for the benefit of more torque and availability at normal engine speeds. And unlike the new, more sport-oriented 1300 S and R, the GT doesn't benefit from the EXUP-style pilot-operated exhaust valve.

always imposing and creating a strong impression of solidity, the 1300's fairing has also been revitalized. The side panels are now pierced by an air vent featuring the BM propeller logo. A little more varnish in certain areas, revised instrument panels and a redesigned instrument cluster complete the changes made to this evolution of the K-series Grand Tourer. Some comfort features are already standard on the K 1300 GT, such as the handlebars, seat and height-adjustable (electric) bubble. If you really want to indulge yourself, take a look at the catalog of options for a GT à la carte. How about heated grips and seat, ESA II automatic suspension adjustment, cruise control, traction control and a little trip computer, eh? Ah, problem, the banker is close to syncope.

let's take a quick and efficient look at the technical highlights: Increased dynamism, especially in the lower and mid-range revs, thanks to a larger displacement, 160 hp at 9,000 rpm and maximum torque of 135 Newton-meters at 8,000 rpm, significant torque increase from 3,500 rpm, optimized exhaust system thanks to a muffler with a different internal structure and lambda-probe-controlled three-way catalytic converter, improved throttle metering thanks to a desmodromic system, maintenance-free cardan drive, improved steering precision and response thanks to the Duolever front-wheel guidance system optimized by a redesigned lower longitudinal arm, second-generation ESA II electronically-adjustable suspension and ASC traction control available on request, new-generation handlebar controls with optimized ergonomics, ABS, adjustable seat and handlebars, optimized full fairing and electrically-adjustable windscreen.

French BBRIDER Model 2009
If you're looking for a machine capable of taking you far and wide in remarkable comfort, and if your wife is along for the ride, then this is the sensible choice. This K1300 is a GT that's still standing, even 10 years later. In its free version, its engine will propel you without a shadow of a doubt, fully loaded or not! This bike always gives me a thrill, even though I'm more of a roadster rider. I chose mine on a whim, and this first BM of my riding life proves to me with every ride that I was right to fall for it. The only mistress my wife allows me, that's saying something! Rating : 5/5
French Model 2010
despite its weight when stationary, it remains an excellent, powerful and easy-to-handle tourer from the moment you ride it. Having a 3-pack, I can't help but be pleased with this machine, which is also ideal for two-up riding. Rating : 5/5
French jc 77 Model 2009
