Motorcycle specifications BMWR 1150 R 2004 A beautiful idea of a roadster

presentation of the R 1150 R 2004
A superb evolution of the R 1100 R, BMW's roadster gets a facelift at the same time as it adopts the new 1130 cm3 boxer engine. Worthy of the brand's cars, this big roadster has a rare elegance, a blend of classicism and bourgeoisie. The bodywork is more aggressive, but just as noble. Only the front mudguard looks strange. Its tortured forms stand in stark contrast to the beautiful balance of the line. Dynamically, its distinctive profile channels air towards the side oil coolers, while the dashboard remains unchanged - a real gem. As the 1150, the R also gains the new 6-speed gearbox, EVO braking, torque and power. The Paralever and Telelever are BM's trademark chassis elements, but here they're more refined and elegant. It also benefits from the wheels of its sporty cousin, the R 1100 S. EVO braking features new, larger 15 mm brake discs and lighter Tokico calipers. Above all, the R 1150 R can be fitted with a new "intelligent" Integral ABS, which is highly effective but confuses the uninitiated. Instructions and training recommended.
Where it's even more fun is with the new gearbox. Already featured on the R 1150 GS and 1100 S models, its handling and smoothness are exemplary.
smooth, silent and velvety, the twin has gained watts but distils them without mood swings. The rev counter's liveliness is in no way comparable to that of an Italian, which is rounder in its bursts of speed and just as willing to hit the red zone. The mill expresses itself joyfully in the mid-range, with all the majesty of a high-ranking machine. With its cardan shaft and dry clutch, driving a BM takes some getting used to. On the road, the machine proudly displays its claims: remarkable agility for a machine of its size and undeniable efficiency. The chassis emphasizes stability, instills confidence and offers greater comfort than the 1100.
At Münich, we like to create renowned machines. This big roadster is proud, elegant and serious, without forgetting its ability to offer a playful ride... For motorcycles and cars alike, a BM is still a BM.
