Motorcycle specifications DucatiMultistrada V4 RS Collezione 100 2026 The Dawn of the Golden Age
presentation of the Multistrada V4 RS Collezione 100 2026
And yet it’s blue-gray. A color that’s hardly out of place on a Multistrada; but with a heart as fiery as that of the RS version, one might expect a bright red, or a livery of fire and fury.
Except that the Multistrada from the “Collezione 100” looks to both the sport and one of its ancestors from the 1970s. A machine that wrote the opening chapter of a remarkable era for Ducati: the SL 500 Pantah.
A moment in time.
Its 1979 livery has spanned nearly half a century to be recreated on the big trail bike from Bologna. It’s not just the blue and red stripes on the gray bodywork. There’s also the same font, the stunning gold color on the rims, and the “Desmo” name on the rear fairing—yes, Desmo, the famous valve train that has all but disappeared from the lineup but lives on in the 180-horsepower V4 found in the Panigale.
This Centennial Edition aims to offer a touch of luxury in addition to its high dynamic potential. To that end, it features:
- A bronze finish on its Brembo Stylema brake calipers
- A touring windscreen
- An open carbon clutch cover
- Alcantara seats with the embroidered centennial logo
- A machined aluminum fuel cap
- A protective cover
- A rear stand matching the bike’s theme
- A riveted plate on the handlebar with the engraved serial number, in the same finish as the brake calipers
- A certificate of authenticity
- Two paintings created by Ugo Nespolo
He is an Italian pop-art artist who has used his talent to capture his vision of each motorcycle (the Multistrada and the SL 500) on expressive and offbeat canvases. It’s a way of blending art and motorcycles into a commercial symbiosis.
The motorcycle will be delivered to you in a wooden crate—one you’ll definitely not want to throw on the barbecue. But your shopping spree certainly doesn’t end there. Since you’ve shelled out nearly twice the price of an MTS 1100 V4 RS to get the “100” version, you might be tempted to splurge a bit more to pick up the matching Arai helmet and jacket. Only owners of a model from the “100” collection will be eligible to purchase this gear. Availability will be limited to the event being celebrated—100 units, for Ducati’s 100th anniversary.

The legacy of roads and symbols
But let’s get back to the Pantah. How did it leave its mark on the times or in people’s minds? Not for its fifty-odd horsepower, but for two important technical features:
- It was the first Ducati with a steel trellis frame. A design that would remain in use for over 30 years.
- The engine switched from bevel gear timing to timing belts, another feature that would become typical of Ducatis for several decades.
Today, a Ducati Multistrada V4 RS—the most powerful model in the lineup—is built on an aluminum monocoque frame, features electronically controlled Öhlins suspension, forged wheels, a single-sided swingarm, an Akrapovic exhaust, and a dry clutch, incorporates a range of carbon fiber components, and boasts cutting-edge electronics.
The “Collezione” edition takes it even further and also reminds us that the Multistrada, too, has shaped a part of Ducati’s history.
