presentation of the SuperSport S 2017
The new Ducati SuperSport revives a neglected, moribund genre that was very much in vogue at the end of the 20th century, and once again offers the essence of a forgotten philosophy. A road-going sportsbike that's comfortable rather than radical, with satisfying, usable performance. In short, it's the perfect way to have fun and get some gas, with a racy bike that won't give you aches and pains after 100 kilometers.
the SuperSport, or 939 SS, revives the name of the captivating and somewhat demanding 750 and 900 SS (not forgetting the 350, 400, 600, 620, 800, 1000). Without, however, fully embracing the spirit of these sensational sports cars, which are not really all-rounders. The SS was sporty, the SuperSport will be Sport-GT. And to fully demonstrate its sense of rigor and efficiency on the road, the lady is presented here equipped with a set of Öhlins suspensions.
Many Ducatis are equipped with a Swedish version. The SS is no exception. Enthusiasts will appreciate the added value of the titanium-nitride-treated 48 mm inverted fork and fully adjustable monoshock. To complete the package, this S also offers a seat cover and an up&down shifter.
apart from these features, the SS 939 S has no engine or frame differences from the standard version. It's powered by the twin desmo of the Hypermotard, delivering 113 hp and almost 10 mkg. With its single-sided, trellis frame (derived from the 821 Monster), Panigale look, Brembo brakes with M4-32 calipers and 320 mm discs, the bike has all the Ducati genes of the various families. Not to mention state-of-the-art electronics with three riding modes, traction control, Bosch 9MP ABS, LED lights, USB socket and... adjustable bubble as standard and heated grips as an option. The SuperSport's catalog of accessories and choice of packages will give you plenty of scope to enhance your SuperSport.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 3 reviews
Despite its 113 hp, you can go very fast with it. My friends who ride 170 hp motorcycles never let me down. Very comfortable and sporty.
Apart from the prohibitive price of the cases, which you can find at half price on second-hand sites, I'm happy with my purchase
The 16 liters are more than enough, given its low fuel consumption.
And you won't be cold in winter... Rating : 4/5 Respond to Doudax
But it's generous and rather easy to ride, despite the fact that it's over 200 kg for 113 original horsepower. The fairing is merely decorative and doesn't protect you any more than a Monster 821 with the same performance
Advantage
Comfortable, well-equipped with electronics, easy to maintain and can be ridden from time to time :) it doesn't balk at the task but remains heavy and yet super-handy, it loves the country roads and freeways
Drawbacks
It heats up a lot and hates the city, the steering angle is limited and the side mirrors and weight are impractical for driving between lanes. When I say it heats up, that's not an understatement! That's its biggest problem..
In town and at low speeds, your thighs will remind you of this, and the Ventilo will be triggered all the time
Big disadvantages
It's beautiful, it's nice, but the dashboard with its LCD screen is a bit old-fashioned, unfortunately, and it's not the easiest to use, and above all, it's still a Ducati,
i'm a fan, but it's the only bike (I've had 13 in 25 years, including an 848 street fighter that I regret every day) where I spend my life at the dealership once a month for something that's failed or a recall campaign or defects that have "run away" and the fairing that moves
i don't need to tell you about the little things, which are never important or serious, but they're always a bit of a pain. Mind you, it's still a super-reliable bike to be ridden alone or with a partner, but it's not an MV Augusta! Without wishing to denigrate
It's Italian charm :) Rating : 3/5 Respond to Saturnin
16 liters is fair, he could have put 2 more
i feel like i'm going to get a high bubble and extended handlebars on my 1098 i'd have the same gt with a real engine lolll
otherwise, it's true that ducati is still the best designer in the current production, even if we'd have expected a slimmer design for the headlight....
