presentation of the CMX 1100 Rebel DCT Special Editon 2025
quite uncluttered, more bobber than cruiser, the CMX 1100 aims to be as simple in its appearance as it is pleasant with its peppy engine and ease of use. Of course, it doesn't have the "boot" and prestige of an American model, with almost twice the displacement and twice the price. Always the story of reason and passion.....
except that the 1100 Rebel felt the need to go a little wild; hence this SE version. It brings a bit of color to a category where dark is the order of the day. A bronze patina for the rims, an attractive Flare Orange (the other matte black color is discreet) and a series of accessories to make it look good.
but first the proud little headlamp cowling. Don't count on it to provide the slightest protection, except for the new 5-inch color TFT speedo adopted by all the big CMXs. The front of the Special Edition rebels with fork gussets, a (very slightly) shorter mudguard, lower-mounted indicators, an anodized radiator grille and handlebar-mounted mirrors. Honda was a latecomer to this trend, which the 1100 SE was the first to offer in series production. Triumph and Ducati are more accustomed to it.
an embossed saddle completes the package, and you're ready for a chic ride. Clutch, clutch....It's a generic word. Because the CMX 1100 takes care of that all by itself with its DCT robotized gearbox. For those joining the train en route, the mechanics come from theAfrica Twin, with its dual-clutch automatic transmission and generous 1084 cm3 twin. When the 1100 Rebel came out, Honda had toned it down in terms of power to better suit the category's usage.
The year 2025 and Euro5+ are good news for this engine, which gains a few watts (88.4 hp at 7,250 rpm) and more torque from low revs (max. still 10 mkg at 4,750 rpm).
the UN CMX 1100 is an unadorned custom bike, yet equipped with 4 riding modes, torque control, anti-wheeling, USB-C, cruise control and smartphone connection.
The SE version gains a kilo on the scales, but remains as low-slung and accessible as ever.
