presentation of the KX 250 F 2014
for the 2014 KX 250 F, the big news is the addition of "Launch Control", a function that has become a real Must Have in MX2 paddocks. Known as an indispensable part of the KX 450 F for doing the Holeshot, the addition of this start aid on the KX 250 F, whose activation is ideally located on the handlebars, is already a must-have when looking ahead to the new MX season.
Other new features for the KX 250 F include revised front engine mounts (for improved front-wheel grip), new grips, a modified gear selector and barrel, revised SFF fork settings and a new Uni-Track rear suspension setup.
What stands out about this machine is its enormous power and pulling power, thanks to the dual injectors and straight intake, combined with the possibility of changing engine maps on demand using the DFI plugs supplied. Available mappings are Standard, Hard and Soft.
progressive throttle linkage
The 43 mm throttle body uses a progressive throttle linkage to deliver air in a very similar way to an FCR carburetor. Thanks to two interconnected pins, the throttle body opens more rapidly beyond the 3/8 opening position, improving engine response and providing a better appreciation of power.
dual injection
The KX 250 F's world-renowned dual-injection system provides more direct fuel delivery and improved performance, boosting engine output at high revs.
high-performance piston
The high-performance piston, like those used on our factory bikes, contributes to improved performance at all engine speeds. The forged piston is made lighter and stronger by the use, on a production motorcycle, of a short skirt, external ribs and bridged-box reinforcements
rider-machine interface
The slim frame, minimalist cladding, lowered tank-seat line and grips offer a narrower riding position and optimum ergonomics to enable riders to go faster more easily.
high-performance engine with factory bike look
Prepared for the most experienced riders, the 249 cm3, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine offers a wide range of use and high performance.
easy engine tuning: direct injection settings
The original settings of the three maps are : Standard, Hard and Soft. using the supplied DFI plugs, the rider can easily switch from one map to another to adapt settings to riding conditions.
kX FI fuel injection calibration factory kit (optional)
The KX FI fuel injection calibration kit is identical to that used by official Kawasaki Teams in Europe and the USA. It allows experienced riders not only to adjust engine settings to their preferences (by modifying the original mapping), but also to record ride data and then analyze it to fine-tune the settings.
race-tuned chassis with factory look
The aluminum perimeter frame is super-light in design, with forged, extruded and cast components. The revised rigidity provides a lighter grip and improved traction, while the slimmer design contributes to the machine's overall ergonomics.
uni-trak rear suspension
The balancer system is mounted under the swingarm for more precise suspension adjustment. Dual compression adjustment offers a wide range of optional settings. The Kashima surface treatment of the cartridge improves operation.
competition braking system
Front and rear petal brake discs are combined with a new master cylinder and brake pads for improved braking performance and control.
a competition-ready front fork
A "Super-hard" titanium surface treatment on the lower fork tubes combined with the internal treatment of the fork legs reduce friction and improve the response of the SFF type 2 for a better riding feel.
factory styling
Factory-style design, black aluminum rims, black fork guards, blue aluminum finish on suspension settings and blue finishing details on the engine give the KX 250 F the look of a machine built for performance.
sFF Type 2 fork
The KX 250 F is the first production motocrosser to feature the SFF Type 2 fork. Thicker tubes and a new organization of internal elements deliver unrivalled damping performance and stability when braking or landing jumps.
