The new KX 250 has been unveiled with a full list of new features and key updates. It is the most powerful 250cc 4-stroke motocross bike ever designed by Kawasaki, and expectations for competition results are naturally high.

one of the major changes to the fork is the adoption of a Kayaba assembly incorporating a new, high-performance inverted fork with springs and ø 48 mm tubes.the large-diameter tubes allow the use of large pistons for progressive engagement and firm damping. The springs are stiff at both front and rear to match the KX 250's increased power. The improved fork absorbs bumps better at the start of a ride, and is complemented by greater firmness to handle heavy shocks. This is matched by the rear shock absorber, which offers dual compression adjustment (fast and slow), enabling separate damping adjustment.

in terms of power, the main changes are to the cylinder head and intake. Featuring a latch-type cylinder head (recently adopted on the Ninja ZX-10RR Superbike), this increases maximum revs and allows the adoption of more aggressive cams for extra power and reduced weight. The new-generation KX 250 benefits from a 2.4 kW (3.3 hp) increase in maximum power and performance focused on high revs. The latter are easily perceptible from 10,000 rpm upwards, giving riders an edge on the straights and enabling them to link up corners more easily, thus improving their lap times.

in addition, a revised version of the airbox features a shorter tapered intake (120 mm> 70 mm), helping to boost performance at high revs. Another innovative feature of the KX 250 is the dual injector, a feature that has been around since 2012, using an injector downstream of the throttle (where injectors are based on standard FI systems). Next, the larger diameter of the throttle body (ø43 mm >> ø44 mm) allows a greater volume of air to pass through, helping to boost performance at high revs, while the repositioning of the intake duct allows an even straighter approach to the intake air. Finally, the angle of the air intake tunnel has been increased from 29.5 to 32.5°, improving cylinder filling efficiency and helping to boost engine power.

these remarkable features, combined with a series of additional newcombine to create the most powerful production KX 250 to date, and a prime candidate for the top step of the podium.
