presentation of the KX 250 F 2013
with its winning pedigree, the KX 250 F proves to be a formidable weapon in the hands of good riders as well as champions. Racing in the USA, the current KX 250 F has already demonstrated this time and again, taking the 2011 crown in the AMA SX Lites West Championship and the top three places in the final AMA MX Lites Championship standings. In MXGP, the KX 250 F earned Kawasaki second place in the manufacturers' standings and third place in the riders' standings.
In 2012, the objectives were even higher after several victories in the MX2 class.
Kawasaki has taken the best of the technology validated by multiple victories on the track and put it straight into the new KX 25 0F. For 2013 - to name just a few of the most striking developments - the KX 250 F is equipped with a brand-new separate function forkes (SFF) fork, and benefits from an even more powerful engine and adjustable injection mapping as standard!
A machine born to win, but accessible to all!
main features :
high-tech suspension: Type 2 Separate Function Fork (SFF)
- increased rigidity improves front-end feedback
- larger shock absorbers enhance damping performance and improve machine control.
Type 2 design (inverted cylindrical compensator rod) provides smoother operation, offering greater end-of-stroke resistance without compromising ride quality.
The new internal construction is identical to that found on the factory machines of Monster Energy Pro Circuit Team champions!
easy engine tuning: choice of DFI injection tuning data
the DFI system's instantaneous connections give the rider access to 3 different engine modes depending on riding conditions: Normal, Easy or Difficult. Each map can be reprogrammed using the KX FI tuning kit.
dual injectors
ensures the best engine performance across the entire range, especially at high engine speeds.
more direct intake for more horsepower at the top of the rev range.
the intake angle at cylinder level is steeper, allowing the gas mixture to flow more directly into the combustion chamber. Combined with the higher compression ratio and other engine developments, this means even more horsepower at the top of the rev range.
refined ergonomics
the new, narrower frame (4 mm), the flowing lines of the seat-tank assembly, and the particularly seamless integration of bodywork and frame facilitate the rider's movements on the bike.
petal disc brakes
petal-shaped front and rear disc brakes are combined with a new front brake master cylinder and new brake pad linings, enhancing the bike's braking potential and control.
new "Factory" styling
factory-inspired graphics, black alumite* rims, rear mudguard and fork protectors in the same color, alumite* blue finish on suspension resuspension linkages, and the blue finishing touches applied to certain engine parts, all combine to give the KX250F a unique look that perfectly matches its very high level of performance.
* Alumite: anodic oxidation treatment of aluminum to produce a protective colored film that resists scratches and corrosion.
