What's changing in 2021

yamaha is undoubtedly the manufacturer shaking things up the most for 2021... and seriously shaking up its range. With an all-new chassis and a bigger, more powerful CP3 engine, the manufacturer is offering a whole new series of Master of Torque models: the MT-09, MT-09 SP, Tracer 9 and Tracer 9 GT have been completely redesigned. You won't have missed the name changes for the crossover models in the range. This is also the case for the 700 Tracer, which becomes the Tracer 7 and is reinforced by a Tracer 7 GT. The MT-07 gets a Euro5 makeover to match the new 'hypernaked' styling. XSR models are joined by a little sister, the XSR 125. The sports range is strengthened by the 700 R7, based on the MT-07 chassis and engine.

the R6 will no longer be available in a road version, but a Race version will allow continued enjoyment on the racetrack and in competition. Sport bikes no longer carry the YZF name.

Yamaha France is recalling its motorcycles equipped with the CP3 engine (2021-2025) due to a fault in the ECU settings. This problem causes the TPS sensor to malfunction, resulting in premature wear and the accumulation of abrasion particles. This can lead to unstable idling, engine stalling and the appearance of error code P2135. The solution: "Reprogram the ECU and replace the TPS sensor," says Iwata.

The electronic throttle can break when the vehicle is pulled up by the throttle or when the throttle cap is not fitted. This can cause the throttle to lock and prevent the rider from controlling the motorcycle properly, especially at high speeds and during acceleration, increasing the risk of an accident.
