presentation of the 1000 Brutale ABT 2026

There’s no such thing as a Brutale without a special edition. MV Agusta loves to explore and partner with the worlds of racing, luxury, and prestigious brands. Here, that partnership takes the form of a collaboration with the renowned German tuning firm ABT. Varese’s most powerful roadster becomes the ABT Limited Edition Brutale 1000.

Pronounce it “Abt,” without pausing on each letter as one might with AMG, STI, or HKS. For like Ruf or Abarth, Abt is a surname: that of the founder of the Auto-Abt brand, Hans-Jürgen Abt, in 1896. A blacksmith and garage owner from the very dawn of the automobile, the entrepreneur founded a company that would become a highly respected name in the tuning world and a close partner of the Volkswagen Group.

The Soul of Tuning

The big Brutale takes on this name, displays it across its body, and celebrates a certain harmony between nations and emotions. Just as MV has done with the special editions Assen, Alpine, TheArsenal, AMG, Wally, Hydrogen…and many others in the past. To emphasize this sense of brotherhood, the Italian flag appears on the right side of the bike, while the ABT slogan and the German colors are displayed on the left.
As always, the bike perfectly blends the wild and the refined, the mechanical alter ego of a Marquis de Sade.

The factory uses a water-based decal process to apply its graphics. This ensures no unsightly raised areas once the protective clear coat is applied, greater durability, and better visual integration.

Of course, you won’t stop at its lewd charm. You appreciate and crave its superb electronically controlled Öhlins suspension, its Brembo Stylema brake calipers, its forged aluminum wheels, its near-slick Pirelli Supercorsa SP tires, its red Alcantara seats with honeycomb-quilted patterns, its complex adaptive lighting headlight… and you can’t wait to start the engine.

The 4-cylinder engine has been adapted to Euro 5+—which has taken a bit of a toll on it. It’s gone from 208 to 201 horsepower at 13,500 rpm. A noticeable blow to the ego, even though it still has more than enough to blow the road, your neck, your arms, and plenty of other sports bikes out of the water. The engineers didn’t just settle for making it compliant with the standards; they installed new camshafts, improved throttle response, adjusted the engine mapping, revised the gear ratios, and shortened the final drive to boost acceleration. As if it needed it…

This noble café racer is built with a mixed steel trellis frame and aluminum plates, accented by a stunning single-sided swingarm. Style-wise, you have to deal with the winglets and the handlebar-end mirrors. But before you grab the beast, take a closer look. For a long time now, high-end MV Agustas have favored carbon fiber parts. On the ABT version, there are 19 of them:

  • Engine case guards
  • The air intake scoops
  • The front fender mounts
  • The airbox cover
  • The fuel tank side panels
  • The panels under the seat
  • The rear wheel cover
  • Headlight cover
  • The exhaust heat shields
  • Part of the engine guard
  • A few other parts scattered here and there

Could you imagine such a beast without electronics? No. In fact, like any MV Agusta, on-board assistance is everywhere. On the Brutale, it consists of 4 riding modes, an Up&Down shifter, an IMU, traction control, wheelie and stoppie control, cornering ABS, Launch Control, cruise control, a 5.5-inch color TFT dashboard, Bluetooth, and a GPS tracking system.

MV’s limited editions always come with extras. So what’s inside the big box of goodies that comes with the bike? Parts to lighten the machine, boost performance, and add a premium touch. Some are actually reserved for track use. This is the case with the Braking Batfly brake discs (optimized cooling and self-cleaning function) and the Arrow titanium exhaust—by installing the ECU that comes with it, engine power jumps to 208 hp. Seven extra horsepower and a more expressive sound—that suits the machine quite well. Which drops to 200 kilos (without fuel) once the kit is installed
There’s also a set of shims to adjust the swingarm pivot point, a carbon seat cowl, a CNC-machined quick-release fuel cap, a custom cover, the certificate of authenticity, and another (smaller) box with special small parts.

Yet another exclusive

Most of Schiranna’s limited editions are produced in runs of 300 units. The Brutale ABT version will be one of the exceptions, with 130 units. Why? To celebrate the partner’s 130th anniversary. The price is a bit less steep thanthe Assen edition that preceded it; but it’s still a real wallet-buster. Since production won’t begin until the last quarter of the year, you still have a few months to save up the equivalent of four Yamaha Tracer 7s.
