presentation of the SRK 125 S 2025

QJ Motor is slowly making its mark on the world motorcycle scene. A brand that is still confidential in our country, but which is set to take on a significant position in the years to come. In China, it is one of the largest manufacturers of motorcycles (mostly small-displacement utility bikes), with production running into the millions.

Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle Group Co began its European expansion with the creation of Keeway, followed by the acquisition of Benelli and Morbidelli. Next, it's its own models that the old continent will discover, and they're no two-bit slouches. The range shows its potential, with mid-size models such as the SRT 800 trail bike, the SRK 700 roadster and the SRK 800 RR sportbike.

But to make its presence felt, it also had to appeal to the public in search of a simple, fun and accessible little motorcycle: the 125. So QJ Motor unleashes its SRK 125 S, a small roadster with an aggressive design. Outside China, the Chinese are no longer so keen on offering vintage machines with 60s styling and technology. Their models are modern, edgy, stylish and almost menacing. Laid out in front of the terrace or lined up in the parking lot at the port ofAix-les-Bains, the SRK will easily be mistaken for a Japanese machine.

There's a bit of the Z 750 in its face; but apart from that, the little SRK knows how to present its own identity. The presence of an engine cowling, a fuel tank that extends forward and horned shoulders give the bike a serious, dignified stature. The dashboard makes an immediate impact: colorful, 5-inch diagonal, dynamic presentation, and even tire pressure indication - astounding at this price level. The QJ Motor also features USB-A and USB-C sockets, LED headlights and indicators, and ABS.

Nor is the engine a relic of the last century, the umpteenth finned lung on the verge of death at 80 km/h. The SRK 125 S moves with a thoroughly up-to-date single-cylinder, with fuel injection, liquid cooling, 4 valves (but 1 ACT), and 15 horsepower obtained at 9,500 rpm. Like its competitors, it reaches the legal maximum. Torque is 12 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

QJMotor SRK 125 S with the exception of the CM-NK01 tires, for which we have serious reservations, the chassis as a whole is of the highest quality. A steel perimeter frame combined with an upside-down fork, monoshock, 260 mm front and 240 mm rear brake discs - nothing exuberant, but enough to get the job done without gnashing your teeth. The bike weighs in at 143 kilos ready to ride.

As always with Chinese products, the price is a major factor in the balance. At over 3,000 euros, the SRK 125 S has a delta of over 1,000 euros compared to a Suz' GSX-S125 - the most affordable 125 roadster (from a reputable manufacturer). And let's not even calculate against the Duke, Z, MT, CB R and other Tuono, requiring 3 to 4 months' salary. Obviously, the reputation is not the same, nor is the network. QJ Motor is taking on a big challenge - one to be followed very closely.
