presentation of the Tuono 125 2025

The story of the Tuono 125 began in 2003. What a long time. Back then, its power-to-weight ratio was better than that of the new 457. Was it with this spirit in mind that engineers decided to add traction control for the 2025 model year? We doubt it... In any case, the slimmest Tuono is determined to stay in the catalog. That's why it's upgrading its mill to Euro5+.

The Tuono has finally formed a real family, growing in displacement and power as it gains experience. The big 1100 V4 leads the way with its fearsome firepower and imperial chassis; the 660 stirs up the mid-size roadster sector; the 457 pokes fun at the A2; the 125 opens the doors of this clan to A1s, youngsters and grunts. The smallest Tuono shows its face and its mechanics.

It 's all about image, riding the wave launched by the RS 660. This is the model that gave Noale its current face. The Tuono 125 also draws a great deal of inspiration from the RS and Tuono 660 to rework its nose. But it retains certain features of the old look, such as the separation of the headlamps. The headlamps, incorporating the turn signals, are LED. The look is all the more mutinous. As for the rest of the machine, everything is taken from the previous model.

What does the mill say? It promises as much as it can deliver. By law, you can't get more than 15 horsepower out of it. Enough to have a bit of fun, if not a lot of fun, when driving is more important than performance. A shifter is available as an optional extra for the more adventurous riders.

Chassis-wise , the Tuono 125 boasts the same hardware as its RS 125 sibling. With a perimeter aluminum frame, 40 mm inverted fork, 300 mm front disc + 4-piston radial caliper, and an asymmetrical aluminum swingarm, this little roadster is a real savoir-vivre. Efficiency is further enhanced by a 140-wide rear tire, Michelin tires and Bosch dual-channel ABS.

Does it take more to please the community? The Tuono hasn't played all its cards. It offers an optional USB port and under-seat storage space sufficient for an 8-inch tablet. We notice that the dashboard doesn't follow the trend. It's an all-digital LCD panel (no TFT yet) with all the info, a choice of white or blue lighting, and the option of grafting the Aprilia MIA platform onto it (optional) - this allows you to connect a smartphone to the machine, to pilot it and get more info from the machine.

Aprilia 125 Tuono 2025

Cleverly distributed power, a Tuono V4 face mixed with the 660, a clear presence to vent its irritation - the 1/8th-literTuono is well and truly part of the family. It shows itself to be one of the sportiest in its class. But don't be over-optimistic. It may be able to put the Chinese competition behind it for a while yet, but its Japanese and Austrian rivals are just as good.

I've owned it since 2023. Nice sound for a 125, comfortable. Clutch lever could be better. Max 113 on flat roads. Rating : 5/5
