Motorcycle specifications SuzukiVZ-R INTRUDER M 1800 R 2015 Cruising high-speed

Cruiser

in the big battle of custom-dragsters, Suzuki had been rather discreet. The manufacturer had once lined up a 1600 Marauder, more to have its own big custom than to face up to the armada of competitors.

since then, Suzuki has stood up to the challenge, and remains one of the last to offer its "big-twin-custom-which-racks-the-road". When it came out, the M 1800 R (no kidding) was up against the Kawasaki VN 2000, Yamaha 1700 Road Star Warrior and Honda 1800 VTX. Now it's up against the Harley 1250 Muscle or the Triumph Rocket III Roadster, with a few special features that catch our eye. During the era of Japanese power-cruisers, the 1,783 cm3 twin wasn't the biggest of the bunch, but it was the most powerful. No less than 120 horsepower jostled for position at the exit of the vilo! This took the power-cruiser concept to a new level. This twin-cylinder, 4-valve-per-cylinder, twin-throttle-injected GSX-R 1,000 does not follow the same logic of power development as its rivals. With a huge 112 mm bore - the largest on a production bike until the arrival of the 1299 Panigale and its 116 mm - and a reduced stroke of 90.5 mm, the engine-makers clearly favoured power over torque. It's the last of the bunch to brandish the Japanese cavalry in this niche; the others have given up, and the Suzuki is counting on its handsome remains and menacing plasticity to take on the British and American.

the M 1800 R adopts a rather futuristic line, far removed from the immobility of this category and its timeless aesthetic canons. The Suzuki power-cruiser is truly the most stylistically advanced custom (especially thanks to its fork head), although its chassis, chassis values and huge 240 mm tire are within the current norm for machines of this type. The front axle, however, is no exception, with its inverted fork and radial brake calipers (Suzuki inaugurated this type of mounting on a custom bike).
The dashboard is a complete change of scene. Divided into 2 parts, it features a VTR SP-1-style digital rev counter in front of the handlebars; and an analog speedometer, mounted on the fuel tank, graduated up to... 240 km/h !!!

I'm hesitant to go with the 2014 VZR I've seen since I don't know how it feels on a custom highway without a bubble, I ride a Street Glide from time to time but it's not really the same in terms of wind resistance
Isn't the position too restrictive with the back bent? My arms are really far out and my feet seem to be the same (after all, I'm 1m90 so this shouldn't be a problem)
But what I really wanted to know is whether the wind resistance is really tiring if I'm going to drive from the North to the South of France to reach a concentrate? Does buying a bubble (for those who have one) solve this problem or not at all?
Are there any mechanical problems I should be aware of?
Thanks to all! V

Hello everyone, I'm thinking of taking the plunge and buying a 1800 vzr that came out in 2009
The bike has 30000kms and the clutch has just been changed by the seller
Does anyone know if the clutch fragility problem affects this 09/2009 model?
thank you for your feedback

I'm 63 years old, 170 cm long and 75 km long, and I'm very comfortable on it... I've never had a fall in 10,000 km with the front lock, so I don't understand it. You just have to steer smoothly and anticipate, that's the basis of 2-wheeling, and take into account the weight of the beast...

Good evening
I'm the proud owner of a vzr 1800 intruder here's my question I've installed led indicators and I'd like to change my flasher unit so that they flash less quickly could someone tell me where to find the flasher unit in advance thank you
Rating : 5/5
French dj mich
Hi didier
For your led flashers. You don't have to worry about them flashing normally.
When you bought them, there was supposed to be 1 coil for each flashing light.
So a total of 4. You connect them to the lines running from the beam to your blinker.
A good solder with a quick tin terminal, heated with a lighter and covered with shrink tubing. And that's it.
I'm starting to get the hang of it, I'm already on my 2nd. If there's a problem -> don't hesitate... Bye

super bike, bike for experienced riders, with a custom paint job that makes me stand out from the crowd... It's a huge custom, and a sporty one at that... I've had my license since '70, so I've ridden quite a few bikes, but this one is in the top 3 of my favorites... Rating : 5/5

53 years old, small (1.70 m for 70 kg) and happy owner of the vzr 1800 top génial, question esthetics, acceleration, and maneuverability in spite of its "enormous mensurations" It's great art this bike. The only downside is the braking: 2 crashes during emergency braking, due to the front wheel locking and crashing on the left side!!! not too bad "luck" has anyone had the same problem?

Rating : 5/5

Exactly the same observations: this bike is pure joy, except for the braking problem. Two crashes on the right during emergency braking, once at 70 km/h, another time at 40! The front wheel locks up and lurches. Unfortunately, this undermines my confidence in this magnificent bike. Is there a solution to this problem so that I can once again enjoy it to the full? Having had a vzr 1800 for 6 weeks and a license for only 14 months, I can only confirm what has already been said. This bike is a pure marvel, both for its looks and its power, but you know, at my age (47) it's not so much speed that I'm interested in, but rather the fact of having a big bike between my legs... so if you want to buy a custom, don't hesitate any longer, this is the one to choose ! It's a real piece of work, equally at home on the road or in town, and yet given its size, it's no easy feat - forget queue-jumping on the ring road for Parisians. Easy to overtake, this machine swallows up kilometers without physical fatigue. Value for money: magical, truly enjoyable. Rating : 4/5

having a 1800 vzr I can't be objective.
But it's the first bike that thrills me in every sense of the word.
I've recently had the opportunity to ride a 1300 yabusha, so let's be honest, it runs well, but it doesn't make you vibrate, and you're more stressed.
driving a vzr is more virile and reassuring, and you really don't feel like you can ride for hours on end.

After many motorcycles and a (fairly long) period without one, I fell for a two-tone black-orange vzr from 2012. And I'm glad I did!!!!! this bike is a delight to ride, no problem with its weight which, although substantial, isn't felt on the road. It vibrates, it pushes, it LIVES!!!!! A real motorcycle. You'll have understood that I'm a fan, and frankly I have no desire to change, I adore it!!!! very comfortable (I crossed France with it) and no worries about fatigue on arrival (a little sore in the buttocks). Only worries at the start: the footrests in front and the habit of putting your feet in the center of the bike, but you quickly get out of the habit...
If I had to change my bike, it would be for a 2013 model...

The speed problem between the 2007 and 2012 versions is not the same. In the 1st case, it's a known mechanical failure (referenced on forum us and 1 friend also suffered from it). In the case of the 2012 and other years, it's the star on the gearbox that needs to be modified (planing a tooth) to make it easier to shift into 2nd gear... Rating : 5/5

It's much more beautiful in real life than on the photos, huge but its lines are still very fluid
