When it appeared at the end of the last century, the Sprint ST was an elegant and convincing sport-GT. Without fear or reproach, it set out to dethrone the class benchmark, the Honda 800 VFR. It was a daring challenge, but its qualities were equal to its pretensions.
First and foremost, there's the superb, svelte styling, with that little touch that sets British bikes apart from the rest. Very similar in spirit, with the same half-road-half-sport positioning, both the VFR and the Sprint ST have a beautiful fairing, a strong and imperial perimeter frame, a magnificent single-sided frame, and yet, none resembles the other.
In terms of dynamics, the Triumph deserves nothing but praise. The powertrain comes from the sporty Daytona, a bewitching 955 cm3 3-cylinder, revised to offer more torque. With its noise and character, this engine is a true enchantment. A little short on top speed, the ST is uncompromising when it comes to acceleration. The chassis is unflappable, lively and stable, allowing you to cruise with confidence. The Sprint has many sporty genes. Except in terms of comfort, which is quite respectable. With 2 main drawbacks: the somewhat limited protection, and the rear suspension which is too harsh on rough roads. Braking is seriously powerful, with an almost violent bite that may surprise newcomers. Delicate on wet roads.
Unashamedly playful, it can also be taken on a trip without any problems. The passenger will be comfortable, the equipment is complete and the range encouraging. A good finish completes the English car's appeal, and it's also competitively priced. Other European models should follow suit.

j'ai le model 2004 avec le monobras,,,, que du regal ,,,moteur extra,,,, tjrs saine,, appetit d'oiseau ,,,300 kms avant reserve (3 liters) en roulant normal et 275 kms en y aller franchemant
mes modifs= bequille centrale , indicateur de rapport engagé ,,,bulle haute deflecteur ,,,kit guidon street ( ca raise un peu la position pour mes lombaires),, couplage des phares,, et voila une machine geniale pour tailler la route ou l'autoroute ,,, sans se ruiner (revision ts les 10 000 kms sans ajout d'une gout d'huile ,,,

It's an excellent motorcycle, reliable, economical (unless you switch to Triumph!) and very roadworthy GT for long-distance travel, with a range of 300kms that's welcome depending on the region or country you're in. Bonne Route Rating : 5/5 Respond to Michel
Good chassis for touring. For sporty use, the brakes, rigidity and, above all, ground clearance are poor. I had to remove the center stand!

We are less seduced by the average protection on freeways (bubble), the really limited lighting at night (coupled is better) and the price of accessories
The range (300 km with no problem), low fuel consumption (5 l/100) and very good storage space under the seat make this a good GT sport bike, really lively but weighing 250 kgs with full tanks (+ the man and possibly the passenger), so be careful at low speeds and especially in the rain..
Try it out and compare it with a VFR 800 avant Vtec, an Aprilia RST Futura, or a Ducati ST2 to make the right choice. Rating : 5/5 Respond to will74
