presentation of the YZF-R6 600 2005
it's hard to make progress with a machine that has already set new standards and reached new heights for several years running. However, it was necessary to react to the formidable GSX-R 600 and to counter the worrying arrival of the 2005 ZX-6RR. Yamaha, in turn, presents the 2005 evolution of its 600cc fighter. After the 600 Ninja and CBR 600 RR, it's now the turn of the R6 to reveal its face to the general public. And here's the surprise: the changes are... minimal. Apart from color and decoration, it's almost impossible to tell the 2005 YZF from the 2003 version.
It's on the mechanical side and on the chassis that the engineers have worked. The most striking feature of this evolution is the new front suspension. Like all modern sports bikes, it features an inverted fork and radial brake calipers. The discs are larger, from 298 to 310 mm. Controlled by a radial master cylinder (also radial), there's no doubt that braking will be as impressive as ever on this fabulous machine. We also note a new rear suspension linkage and a new front tire profile.
On every generation of R6, there was horsepower. And like chocolate, you always want more. The new R6 is no exception to the rule, spitting out an extra 3 hp (126 at the same 13,000 rpm). More than just a quest for maximum power, the engine-makers have inflated the power curve to offer more watts across the rev range, and not just at the top of the rev counter. To achieve this, the Yam gains new injection mapping, redesigned intake ducts and new camshafts.
for Valentino ROSSI fans, his time with Yamaha has already left its mark. The new R6 will be available in a typical VALE color (2,500 units for Europe), which will be nothing other than a Replica.

Well, I've fallen for the beauty (or the beast) too!
I reserved it and I'm going to pick it up on Thursday morning, I can't wait to have it in my hands. Although I've already tried a 2005 r6, with the pot it's going to sound great!
