presentation of the YZF-R1 1000 EDITION 50eme ANNIVERSAIRE 2006
this is the name of the decoration that the new R1 sports to celebrate Yamaha's fiftieth anniversary. It's yellow, it's flashy, and it was the colors of Yam competition machines in the 1970-1980s. Remember the meowing 2-strokes that brought world championship titles in road racing in '78, '79 and '80? A certain Kenny Roberts proudly defended the colors seen above.
Apart from the 50th anniversary Yamaha logo and this special color scheme, this edition of the R1 remains technically identical to the new 2006 model. If you're looking for something stronger, a limited SP series will be available for just 500 units.
