Sport

But the blade hadn't become blunt enough for Kawasaki to reshape its edges to make them even sharper. A symbol of excess in the category, and a sign of Kawa's return to the forefront of big sportbikes, the ZX-10R undergoes its first mutation.
Elegant, refined and smoother, this green hypersport is above all a servant of performance. The quest for efficiency and the laws of aerodynamics have changed its face. Its big, menacing eyes have given way to a viper's gaze embedded in its batrachian face. Largely inspired by the 2005 ZX-6RR, its new forkhead features a revised forced-air intake and new, apparently lenticular headlamps, topped by a new 6R-style bubble. While the front end is more fluid, the rear has been made heavier by the presence of pots under the seat. The 10R also uses these to eliminate any aerodynamic drag. The large exhaust is replaced by 2 elements installed under the passenger seat (of the what...?). The titanium line is configured as a 4-in-2-in-1-in-2. The rear turn signals are integrated into the rear flanks, leaving only the mirrors and footrests protruding from the Ninja 1000.

a new swingarm reinforced from below (like the R1), a radial brake master cylinder, an Öhlins steering damper, revised engine positioning, an alternator and starter that pass behind the cylinders... The engineers didn't just redesign the machine; they also set out to make it even more rigorous. It has to be said that the engine-makers also worked on the subject: new injectors, antifriction treatment of the cylinders, revised mapping; power remains identical - with new exhausts complying with Euro 3 standards, better distributed and more usable.

Even so, the ZX-10R is a crazy machine to be handled with care. To check its heartbeat, the new dashboard offers greater visibility, with a judicious return to a needle-type rev counter, where the red zone begins at 13,000 rpm. A big push on the throttle for greater efficiency and even more passion.

KAWASAKI 1000 ZX-10R2 seconds - A boulevard when chasing the stopwatch! The 2006 ZX-10R has just beaten its predecessor on the Autopolis circuit (Kawasaki's home track in Japan). You're already thinking that the Kawa's mill must be firing on all cylinders. Not wrong, but not right. It's still the big high-voltage boiler, except that the character has changed. The Kawa technical staff specify "a more gradual arrival of horsepower, with corner exit behavior benefiting from the new engine's more linear power curve and increased mid-range breathing". It's always easier to drop times on a circuit when you're the one controlling the arrival of power, not when it's overflowing out of you.

The ZX-10R has succeeded in its therapy; from virulent and fiery, it becomes more serene, even more efficient, as powerful as ever, with watts in every direction. The new 2006 ZX-10R has no choice: it must become more docile to express its full potential on the track. In doing so, it loses some of its nasty character and a little of its image, and joins the clan of friends, led by the GSX-R 1000 and R1. Fans of Kawa's big machines may be a little sulky, but track riders will be all the happier for it.

For me, this is the most aesthetically pleasing motorcycle ever! The front end is a real success with those 2 little lights! A massive build that gives it its aggressive style! A double exhaust outlet under the saddle puts the finishing touch on everything! (What's more, the original exhausts aren't as disgusting as the latest models from all brands).
As for the cycle part, I haven't tested everything yet, so I won't go any further for the moment :)

I have just broken a zx10r 2006 and the only thing I regret is the aesthetics of the 2005 but the performance of the new stick my eyes to the brain . attention to the beginner 195 hp for 170 kg hihi GAZZZZ !!!! Rating : 5/5

In May 2006, I bought my first motorcycle for life, the new 2006 ZX-10R, and I'm in love.Top speed (personal) 297Km/h, best 1/4 mile time 10.7 seconds at 248Km/h.I'm still alive and well in paradise.Thank you Kawasaki. Rating : 5/5
i've seen it, I've experienced it, I've lost it, and yes, I've lost all wisdom when I saw this jewel of technology. Once again, Kawa has made me a compulsive buyer. it's crazy, dexterous in the corners and just as demonic as I am
not to be left in the hands of the inexperienced. this bike may be flawless, but the rider can screw it up in the blink of an eye. super beast
be careful ciao

I rode this bike 500 km in the mountains on Thursday. Pure joy! It's got a lot of speed, but it's still manageable. The chassis, roadholding, cornering, stability, braking: all that is pure joy Rating : 5/5

i treated myself to this bike, a real pleasure, nothing to say except sign the cheque, it hurts like the acceleration of this bike! not to be left in the hands of beginners! Rating : 5/5

This bike kicks ass, it's even more beautiful than the last one, frankly I congratulate the Japanese Rating : 5/5
French Model 2006
Kawa is a dream, so the ZX10 is nirvana. So why should Kawa go to such lengths to make it so ugly when the 2004 model was almost perfect, and we're already having trouble with the (beautiful) R1? Maybe it's for commercial reasons, but none of them are original, thank you engineers. But hey, we're Kawa Xmen, aren't we!!!!! Rating : 5/5
French Model 2006
frankly 2004/2005 great years for kawa but the news zx6 etzx10 2006 really not pretty 'personal opinion' Rating : 5/5
for me, the positive thing about the 2006 is the comfort of the saddle and the steering amorto. for the rest, i wouldn't change my mod 05 for the 06

i have absolutely nothing against this bike except the new, even more limey color. I think the 2006 zx10 is more striking in black. Rating : 5/5
French Model 2006
i own the current model and had a hard time getting used to the 2006 model: I like the front end but the exhaust pipes need to be changed urgently (I think it's the "covers" that spoil the aerodynamics...) Rating : 5/5
French Model 2006
When I saw the first shots, I initially regretted the old design, but having seen it in real life at the Paris World's Fair, I've relatively reconsidered my position, it's really much prettier in real life than in photos, the front optics suit it very well, and even if the ariere with those 2 pots still isn't top-notch, it didn't shock me compared to the FZ1's scapement, for example, so a pair of Akra guns and there you have it, especially as in black it looks really bad!!!! Rating : 5/5
French Model 2006
it's too deadly
bravo to the kawa manufacturer
Rating : 5/5
I'm telling you, I'm going to buy this bike and I'm going to get rid of those horrible mufflers that spoil its looks, replacing them with a big muffler on the side in non-approved carbon to make the decibels go through the roof!
bye, bye

French Model 2006
i loved the aesthetics of the 2004 ZX10-R. I'm not a fan of the new headlights (maybe it's a matter of habit?). I don't like the new under-seat pot either, it's ugly and raises the center of gravity. All for the sake of fashion. Apart from the new design, I like everything about it, and they've even changed the only small drawback (in my opinion) of the 2004 version. The lap counter is analog again. Rating : 5/5
Honestly, this bike is really good, my only regret is that the rear end isn't a bit higher, because the pots are close to the tire. Otherwise, I don't share Fabio's opinion about the new R6, the little pot on the side gives it a new look, and as for Kawa's opinion, it's the same, I don't think the ZX10R looks like the R1, the rear of the R1 is much more advanced, the years go by and it's obvious that the design is moving towards futurism, that's all I'm saying. Rating : 5/5
French Model 2006
it's a shame this bike's ass looks like the R1
Why do what others do! It doesn't have to be pretty, plus it's déjà vu and looks like a copycat.

Apart from the pots and the ugly bib (and maybe the price), not much has changed
it's still a crazy machine

I don't know what Japanese engineers have for breakfast, but they need to ease up on the sake. The uglier it gets (new R6, 1000 fazer (the potty mouth)) and now the ZX 10R
Sports bikes are becoming a mess.

the old model was already diabolical, but this is even worse. it's even more beautiful than the old one, except for the pts, which are really ugly. i currently own an RSV 1000 (very good bike) but i'd really like the ZX10R, even the old version Rating : 5/5
