presentation of the XSR 700 Yard Built - Super 7 - 2015
Following on from the "Faster Son" concept imagined by Shinya Kimura of Chabbott Engineering this summer at the launch of the XSR 700, the German tuners at JvB-moto are now the first to present their vision of the latest model in the Sport Heritage range. The result: the "Super 7" asserts its strong personality while demonstrating the countless customization possibilities of the XSR 700.
the VMAX "Infrared", Jens vom Brauck's first preparation for Yamaha, forged a relationship that has only grown stronger since. As a great fan and supporter of the XSR concept, JvB-moto was the ideal partner to illustrate the customization potential of the new XSR 700.
without cutting or welding the chassis, Jens set about stripping the bike down to its bare essentials to bring out the essence of this retro machine. The result: a very streamlined bike that reflects the lightness, power and agility of the standard XSR 700.
"It's really great to be part of the Yard Built project again," enthuses Jens vom Brauck of JvB-moto."Our first project, the VMAX, was a huge success; we went through the roof with this bike! It caused quite a stir. This preparation is obviously very different. I wanted to create the essence of this type of bike, which is very versatile. I wanted to strip it down to get a feel for the XSR 700 and its superb chassis. I then wanted to transform the bike's styling to match the sensations it offers: great agility, lightness and power. That's what inspired me to define its lines. What I really like about this bike is that you can remove the subframe to get a shortened rear end and a different look with the saddle. All it takes is a few screws to make the modification, which makes life a lot easier for tuners. The most important thing about this preparation is that we're going to manufacture all the parts so that customers can turn their bike into a Super 7. From the headlight to the rear seat, including the front mudguard and side covers, you'll have all the elements you need to build a Super 7 from JvB-moto!"
Many of the parts of the "Super 7" have been manufactured in-house by JvB-moto and will be available to XSR 700 owners: headlight, LED indicators and the speedometer mount that holds the Daytona speedometer. The side covers and seat that give the bike its exclusive look were all made by JvB-moto, as was the mounting for the Arrow exhaust. at the rear of the bike, the mudguard, taillight and number plate are all made in-house, as is the front mudguard.
the "Super 7" is fitted with Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa tires for total grip, with an Öhlins shock absorber at the rear for optimum control. The fork is available from stock, modified for custom preparation. Custom risers hold the LSL handlebars at the right height in front of the tank, which is usually anodized but now uncluttered to expose the raw alloy. There's also a custom brake fluid reservoir at the rear and a polished regulator.
the original footrests and brackets have been modified, and JvB-moto's LED indicators are mounted at the front. For the protective finishes, the engine covers and other small parts have been polished to achieve a finished effect.
all parts designed and manufactured in-house by JvB-moto will be available as bolt-on parts for the XSR 700.
