presentation of the Panigale V2 S Collezione 100 2026
Why 100?
Ducati’s sport bikes have often featured numbers to identify their engine displacement or a rider. But in this case, it’s for a different reason.
It’s the brand’s story—Ducati is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. And to mark the occasion, only 100 units of this Panigale V2 S will be available. So, it has nothing to do with engine displacement or power—it’s a big nod to Bologna’s past.
The yellow paint covering this “little” Panigale is a beautiful illustration of that. Some will see it as a tribute to the 748, the 916 ’s sister model and just as beautiful. The parent company goes even further back in time, linking this bike to Franco Uncini’s 750 Super Sport Desmo*.
The sun behind her eyes
An explosion of summer and light takes hold of it, just as much as the 7½s of yesteryear. The designers didn’t take the homage so far as to cover the frame in sunshine, as was the case with the ’75 track bike, but they didn’t hesitate to do so for the swingarm. With the swingarm, the Öhlins suspension, and its bodywork, the Panigale V2 S 100 is a true sunflower turned toward the track.
Be careful not to confuse it with the “Ducati Yellow” color scheme that appeared this year on the standard V2 S. The “Collezione 100” color is less vivid, and a whole series of elements set it apart: the race number on the front fairing and the rear fairing, the vintage lettering (by Giugiaro) on the fairing panels, burgundy-brown accents around the air vents and along the rear, a bronze finish on the Brembo Stylema brake calipers, and the same type of markings on the fuel tank as on Uncini’s bike to identify the racing team.

So much for the aesthetics. But Ducati has also given it more substance. The Panigale V2 S Collezione 100 comes with a whole host of appealing features:
- A dry clutch developed specifically for this model.
- An open carbon fiber clutch cover.
- A pair of sport handlebars and grips
- A machined aluminum fuel tank cap in Centenary Bronze
- A special animation on the instrument panel when starting the bike
- An Alcantara seat with the Centennial logo embroidered on it
- A taller windshield
- A kit for removing the mirrors and license plate
- An Öhlins steering damper
- A pit stand matching the bike’s colors
- A custom-machined triple clamp, featuring a plate engraved with the bike’s name and serial number
- A protective cover
- A certificate of authenticity
- A wooden crate, which also adds to the premium feel
- Two numbered prints signed by artist Ugo Nespolo—they depict a pop-art vision of this Panigale and the 1970s Super Sport.
- To complete the look, the factory offers owners of this bike a matching Nolan helmet, as well as a vintage-style leather jacket that also coordinates with the colors.
Thus, a great deal of attention has been paid to this Panigale V2 S 100. Ducati is cultivating its image and its brand ambassadors, especially for an event around which it’s generating a lot of buzz. But this distinguished package comes at a staggering price, nearly on par with a Panigale V4…….. R.

*At the end of 1973, Ducati decided to entrust team management to Bruno Spaggiari, a former rider and founder of his own racing team. Spaggiari received support from the Bologna-based manufacturer to compete in the Italian production motorcycle championship with the powerful 750 Super Sport Desmo, a bike highly regarded by a discerning audience.
The yellow livery was reminiscent of the road-going 750 Sport models and was paired with details in a distinctive brown/burgundy color, which was used at the time on inboard marine engines assembled at the Borgo Panigale plant.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, yellow is a highly symbolic color in Italian motorsports. It is the color of the city of Modena (the home of Ferrari, which also uses Giallo Modena on its logos and road cars).
