presentation of the 1198 F10 SUPERBIKE 2010
haga, Fabrizio, 1198 - The trio that ruled the roost at the official Philip Island test, just a few days before the opening of the 2010 season. Ducati is back for the new season with a configuration very similar to last year. The riders and machine are the same, with only a few changes to the technical staff. Having struggled with the R1 in 2009, the 1198 Factory will be pursuing a single objective: victory, on every circuit. In fact, this machine is one of the most effective tools available on the SBK scene. Since 1988, when the Bologna-based firm developed its Desmoquattro, the Italian twin has acquired an incredible level of technology and performance. The 8-valve 1200 is modestly rated at 200 hp by the factory, but in reality, it easily approaches 220 horsepower. The Magnetti-Marelli on-board electronics are worthy of Star Wars, bringing the hypersport closer to a real space fighter. Carbon fairing, Brembo monobloc radial brake calipers, MotoGP-level Öhlins suspension, rigid trellis frame... the 1198 is built to win, but it hasn't forgotten to look good. The look is as enchanting as the technology is effective. Bayliss knows what he's talking about, Fabrizio has long, sharp teeth, and Haga is surely playing his best card to (finally) become world champion.
