presentation of the SFC 1000 2004

a worthy and highly accomplished proto-concept up to now, the Laverda SFC 1000 will finally show its face outside the showroom, much to the delight of the lucky few 579 who will have ordered it in time. A modern Laverda sports bike descended from the SFC of the '70s (yeah, especially the color), it's closer to the café-racer style than to the track-bound pistarde, a bit like the Voxan of the same name.

its attributes are enough to make a number of products from the rising sun pale in comparison: fully Öhlins suspension adjustable in all directions, carbon fairing, forged aluminum wheels.... and the heart of the machine is the latest-generation Aprilia twin 1000, encased in a chrome-molybdenum trellis frame. The frame is not painted, but only varnished, so you can appreciate the level of finish. The titanium pots play an important part in the distinctive design of the rear end. Attention to detail is everywhere, and everything is done to make sure it stands out - just like the ultra-stylish monoshock. A pleasure machine? Certainly. Reasonable? Certainly not! The SFC is not a machine for the materialistic, but for the passionate.
Alas, the SFC 1000 will remain no more than a stylistic exercise, and will never see the light of day.

why didn't you create an engine for this bike, rather than using one from another manufacturer? too bad it's only available in so few units. Rating : 5/5
Too bad it's a twin-cylinder. A 3-legged would have been nice... This brand needs more resources to flourish... obviously, there are some passionate motorcycle enthusiasts at Laverda. Rating : 5/5
