presentation of the 1000 Piega Evo 2004
it may not be obvious visually, but the Piega has indeed been redesigned by the Italian manufacturer. The bodywork has been softened slightly and the equipment has evolved. The fork, now Öhlins, is captive of a sublime fork crown, a veritable sculpture carved out of the mass. The finish is even more polished, the geometry of the chassis is faster, and there's a little more carbon everywhere. The bike is still powered by the hypersport twin of the Honda VTR SP-2, but benefits from its own mapping, enabling it to produce 143 hp. A pleasant surprise: the price of this marginal sports bike has come down, but it's still intended for a limited category of aesthetes. Brembo brakes with radial calipers, Öhlins shock absorbers, trellis frame, lightened rims... we're not worried about the machine's potential. While the EVO is more eye-catching, it still lacks a certain personality. The name isn't everything.
