presentation of the 1200 Manx R Apex 2026
Norton is making a double impact with its new Manx R. First, it creates a visual stir with its distinctive silhouette, which is sure to spark debate; second, it takes onlookers by surprise with its relatively affordable price tag for a motorcycle of its caliber. Previously, a hypersport from this manufacturer, like the V4 RR, cost over 30,000 euros. Then 50,000 for the SV version (the one that preceded the Manx R). Now, the price sits somewhere between a Japanese and an Italian bike.
This leaves room to introduce better-equipped versions. Because the base model might leave you wanting more. The Apex version is the second trim level for this machine, featuring forged aluminum OZ wheels, a weight reduction of 3 kilos, and semi-active suspension.
Norton has chosen Marzocchi for its suspension components, featuring a 45 mm inverted fork with DLC-coated tubes and an RSU-type monoshock. Using a set of sensors and potentiometers, the onboard electronics update every 3 milliseconds and continuously adjust the suspension. Compression and rebound are adjusted automatically based on the bike’s response, the road profile, and the selected riding mode; preload remains manual. Never before has a Norton employed this level of technology, though it is now widely used in the realm of sport bikes and large touring machines. Except that the company highlights a more advanced system featuring independent linear potentiometers and separate control of the fork and shock absorber.
Pure track riders will prefer a mechanical adjustment system, but the Manx R isn’t designed for pure performance and competition (it’s impossible to compete with its 1200cc engine). It’s a thoroughbred hypersport, built for the joy of riding, with a massive 209 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque, Brembo Hypure brakes on 320 mm discs, Pirelli Supercorsa SP-V4 tires that grip like Velcro, 5 riding modes, a dozen rider aids, a large 8-inch color TFT screen, a single-sided swingarm, and a design aesthetic so refined that it becomes more than just a signature.

The Norton Manx R Apex is here to let you appreciate the intensity of its riding experience and discover its rich philosophy without veering into excess. Because that’s reserved for the Signature version, which is more high-end and borders on snobbery.
For the aristocrats, the Solihull brand keeps a dose of prestige in reserve with the First Edition.
