Featuring an all-new adjustable injection system, the WR-F's renowned 450 cm3 liquid-cooled, four-stroke, five-valve engine offers even more responsive and customizable performance to suit every situation encountered by enduro riders. In addition to its new fuel-injected engine, the WR 450 F version 2012 features a new aluminum double-beam frame, ensuring a level of agility unmatched by any 450. Made from a combination of forged, extruded and panelized aluminum components, this innovative lightweight frame has the dimensions of a 250, giving the WR 450 F a real advantage in the tight turns and twisty trails typical of enduro riding.

In addition to its modernized engine and new frame, the WR 450 F version 2012 also boasts a slender chassis that perfectly underlines its compact dimensions. Thanks to its new black Excel rims, Pro-Taper handlebars and new headlamp plate, the look of this E2 enduro bike is an ideal precursor to its racing performance.

The WR 450 F's 449 cm³, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 5-valve, DOHC engine is a favorite of enduro and off-road riders looking for power and control. Equipped with a new fuel injection system, this rugged, reliable model is set to become even more popular.

By their very nature, enduro bikes have to endure frequent changes in altitude, air temperature and atmospheric conditions in the space of a few hours. To ensure efficient engine operation in a constantly changing environment, the new compact injection system fitted to the WR 450 F 2012 model has been programmed to constantly adapt its settings to ambient conditions. To minimize weight, the WR 450 F 2012 uses the same lightweight, compact fuel pump as our YZ-F models.

competition parts kit:

A Competition Kit specially designed for the WR 450 F 2012 is also available for riders wishing to use their machine on closed enduro circuits. This kit includes several parts specially designed for racing, such as an exhaust elbow, a muffler, a rear exhaust pipe, a set of 13/50 sprockets and much more.

new racing exhaust system with resonator:

The exhaust elbow included in the Competition Kit features a resonator designed to optimize the pulsation effect of the exhaust/admission circuit. This resonator already equips the YZ-F models in Yamaha's MXGP range, and contributes to improving the machine's low- and mid-range power.gimes, which is particularly interesting for enduro riding where races are often won where speed is lowest, such as in narrow, winding areas.

easy power adjustment:

The WR 450 F is supplied as standard with standard injection mapping. However, on machines equipped with Yamaha Competition Kit parts, riders can use the Power Tuner to adjust injection volume and ignition timing to suit their particular terrain conditions and riding style.

Compact and easy to use, the Power Tuner does not require the use of a PC to activate mapping changes. All the rider has to do is plug the Power Tuner into the motorcycle's dedicated connector and enter the values corresponding to the desired performance. The Power Tuner allows riders to independently adjust the injection volume at 9 different setting points. Ignition timing can also be set at 9 different points.
By trying out different injection and ignition settings, drivers can create their own mappings, the ones that best suit their driving style and the conditions encountered.

Another advantage of the Power Tuner is its monitoring function, enabling users to observe data from the various sensors, as well as engine running times. A self-diagnosis function for malfunctions also facilitates maintenance.

vibration-resistant radiator:

The WR 450 F features a completely redesigned radiator that ensures stable operation even at low rpm, when airflow is reduced. First used on the latest-generation YZ250F, this vibration-resistant radiator has a thicker body and its mounting system now uses a three-point system (previously two) for greater longevity.

high-capacity alternator and new capacitor:

To meet the needs of the new fuel injection system, the WR 450 F version 2012 is equipped with a high-capacity, three-phase magnetic alternator. and, to ensure efficient kick starting even in the event of battery problems, a capacitor has been added to the motorcycle's electrical circuit.

The new 2012 WR 450 F features a completely new frame, one of the most compact on the market.

Featuring two aluminum spars running from the steering column to the engine cradle, this new bilateral-beam frame has been designed from the YZ250F model to offer a significant number of advantages over the previous version.

This bilateral design has enabled engineers to reposition elements such as the fuel tank and radiators to better center the weight of the machine and allow easier and quicker steering changes in tight corners.

Developed from the slender design of the YZ250F model, the frame of the WR 450 F 2012 has a number of enduro-specific features.specific features, such as the shape and thickness of various components, as well as redesigned engine mountings and rear buckle. The rear buckle is also made from a different alloy.

The compact 1,475 mm wheelbase (25 mm shorter than the existing model), 27º caster angle and 115 mm caster, give the new the new WR 450 F a feeling of lightness and agility, combined with excellent front-wheel handling and impressive rear-wheel traction.

enduro-specific suspension settings:

In addition to its new bilateral beam frame, the WR 450 F features a new air/liquid-separated front suspension system inspired by the famous YZ-F models in Yamaha's MXGP range. Featuring lightweight, bending-resistant 48 mm tubes, the inverted front fork benefits from enduro-specific suspension and damping settings to ensure optimum performance in tight corners, while offering excellent stability at high speeds.

The monocross link rear suspension also features specific damping and suspension settings, designed to meet the expectations of enduro riders, with better initial travel for improved handling in tight corners. Finally, the WR 450 F's fully adjustable chassis adapts precisely to each rider's riding style and different terrain.

sleek 7.2-liter resin fuel tank:

The new resin fuel tank has been specially designed with a capacity of 7.2 liters (1 liter more than the YZ450F model), to satisfy both racing and touring enthusiasts. And for peace of mind, the console features a fuel level indicator.

The all-new trim of the WR 450 F highlights the compact dimensions of its 250-class frame and grants the machine a sharp profile in keeping with its functionality.

eye-catching saddle:

The new WR 450 F is equipped with a specially designed saddle to increase comfort and reduce fatigue. It is covered with a high-grip cover to improve rider control in wet weather. In addition, the new saddle is 960 mm high, 30 mm lower than the current model.
