Motorcycle description sheet Ducati1100 Streetfighter V4 2025 Total deflagration
to explain the Streetfighter V4, you need to know that its designers like to play with octanitrocubane. This barbaric word refers to one of the most powerful explosives on the planet, making dynamite look like a joke. So, in Bologna, they transposed the concept to the latest version of their racing car. The SF V4 was already one of the world's top fireworks; now it's even crazier.
the 1103 cm3 V4: a programmed explosive
let's not build up any suspense and get down to the crazy truth: 214 horsepower! Sickening power! The R1 and ZX-10R are jettisoned, most of the competition is on its last legs, and the benchmarks have been shattered. Ducati is all about maximum performance. In fact, engine manufacturers are no longer taking the gloves off when it comes to exploiting the boiler. Until now, all manufacturers "softened" their engines a little by transferring them from a sports bike to a roadster, to make them a little more torquey and fuller at mid-range. Ducat doesn't bother: the new Panigale 's V4 is directly transplanted without modification!
in fact, the only difference in power (2 hp) between the cousins is due to a different intake. In fact, the trumpets on the new 1100 Streetfighter V4 become variable to boost power. If the heart isn't beating hard enough, the Akrapovic racing exhaust can boost it to 226 bhp. That's enough to get you to Mars before Elon Musk.
As if 214 hp at 13,500 rpm and 12.2 mkg at 11,250 rpm (down slightly since the previous SF) weren't enough..
between two generations, the hyper-roadster thinks more about shaking up the nervous system than visual impact. The styling has been reworked with continuity, as if the design office had hesitantly given it some thought. Then you realize that everything has been modified. Every part, every moment of styling, the slightest dose of personality is revisited to mark a new stage without overturning the old order. The new upper winglets emphasize their proximity to those of the Panigale. They are now painted, and add 17 kg of load at 270 km/h. The lower winglets are the only elements carried over from theold SF.
the Panigale chassis
as with the Panigale, the new swingarm is sure to set tongues wagging. The single-sided swingarm is gone! We've replaced it with the Panigale's symmetrical, technically sophisticated element, which is less rigid laterally (-43%) and improves traction. In fact, as with the engine, the chassis comes directly from the Superbike ; Ducati has only modified the steering angle, increasing it by half a degree. Compared to the previous Streetfighter, the frame is lighter (3.47 kg instead of 4.42 kg) and 39% less rigid laterally. Suspension is little changed: the Showa large-piston inverted fork (BPF) has gained 5 mm of travel (125 mm) for better road hugging, corner entry feel and acceleration stability. Sachs takes care of the rear and steering dampers. All elements are, of course, adjustable in all directions.
furious as he may be, this athlete is thinking of better ergonomics for his rider. The tank (-1 liter) and seat (thicker) have been redesigned to anchor the rider better under braking. You're better integrated into the bike, and can move more easily to get your body out of the corners. The right hand has a better feel, thanks to the throttle control taken from the Panigale V4 R. The handlebars have been moved 10 mm closer to the rider, while the footrests are lower and 10 mm further forward.
the new SF V4 has also worked on its transmission: the new shifter bumps directly into the gear sensor and gearbox selection drum for a more direct feel, with less of the "rubber" effect found on most shifters. The first two gears are shorter, as is the final gear - officially for easier road use. Above all, this will make acceleration even more devilish. Hello? Elon Musk? Ducati is ahead of the game.
new rims make their appearance, shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa. On the braking front, Ducati shows its appetite for top-of-the-range technology with the installation of the latest Brembo Hypure brakes. Only the new Panigale V4 and Aprilia RSV4 feature them. Lighter in weight, these aluminum-silicon alloy calipers offer more consistent braking, dissipate heat better and would stop a fully loaded mammoth in its tracks. Hello martyrdom for the 330 mm discs. At the rear, the 245 mm disc loses half a millimeter to save weight. All supervised by the latest Race eCBS.
total electronic supervision
what's this? The almost unprecedented braking supervision system that the Panigale V4 recently inaugurated. Race eCBS is a combined braking system with autonomous management. Basically, when the rider brakes from the front, the electronics apply a certain amount of braking to the rear for greater stability and better tracking. It can be calibrated on 5 levels, to be more road- or track-oriented, with different intervention strategies.
another newcomer from the Panigale is DVO. An algorithm developed by the racing department capable of estimating 70 physical data and better intervening on electronic assistances. As a result, traction control, anti-wheeling and stop-start assistance are much more precise.
Let's take this opportunity to review all the on-board driving aids:
- - IMU 6-axis inertial unit
- - Ducati Vehicle Observer DVO
- - DTC DVO traction control
- - DSC slip control
- - DWC wheeling control DVO
- - Race eCBS
- - ABS cornering
- - Neutral start assist DPL DVO
- - Shifter Up&Down DQS
- - Engine brake control EBC
- - Pit speed limiter
- - 4 riding modes
the Streetfighter is best appreciated in four modes. The Wet mode is a little quieter than the others. For example, its engine mapping limits power to 160 hp (just a little more than a CB 1000 Hornet SP). All Modes have been revised in line with the new engine configuration. Let's take a look.
- - Race kicks ass with a High power mode (optimum thrust and calibration for each gear ratio), low-inclusion electronics, DTC and DWC at level 3, engine braking at 2, just like Race eCBS and DSC
- - Sport sets the power mode to Medium (same watts but more progressive acceleration). Electronic stability is higher, with DTC and DWC set to level 5, while Race eCBS is set to level 4
- - Road is also set to Medium power. Assistants are a little more cautious than in Sport, with Race eCBS remaining at level 4 and engine braking at level 3.
- - Rain drops the power to Low while the electronics intervene for maximum stability. Race eCBS moves up to level 5
If you feel like it, you can personalize the Modes to your heart's content and/or your dose of efficiency.
There's also a Full Power mode that lets the engine's full power flow unfiltered, except in first gear
" What else can I borrow from the Panigale ?" the Streetfighter asked. Well, its dashboard. A large 6.9-inch screen, with plenty of space for all the information you need to ride. Two display themes are available.
A Road mode with a big rev counter, gear engaged in the middle, settings and infotainment on the left, speed and riding info on the right.
Track mode is more circuit-oriented (logically), with engine revs as a bar graph, a more visible engaged gear, lap times on the left and the level of electronic assistance on the right.
the new 1100 Streetfighter V4 will also be available in S version, with Öhlins electronic suspension, lighter forged aluminum wheels, Öhlins steering damper, lithium battery and 2 kg less weight.
ducati and BMW are waging a fierce war in the supercharged motorcycle sector. While the Italian loses a round in the hypertrail segment(Multistrada V4 RS vs. M 1000 XR), it overtakes the M 1000 R with this evolution of the Streetfighter V4. His machines evolve to such high levels that only a handful of riders can really exploit them. Paradoxically, the electronics are such that the machine is surprisingly approachable. But if you unplug it completely, you'll get a glimpse of the effects of nitroglycerine in the face.
