presentation of the 1198 SP 2011

in 2010, the 1198 range included the standard model, the S version with Öhlins suspension, the S Corse in a special series with a special tank and color scheme, and the R Corse model with specifications very close to the SBK factory bike. For 2011, it's simpler: an 1198 for the sporty, an 1198 SP for the big-hearted.

the 1100 Hypermotard had already adopted this designation last year - it would seem that Ducati's sportiest models are now taking up the name. The S version has been rebranded and equipped with the very best: inverted forks and TTX monoshock (big top) from Öhlins, standard shifter (previously only available on the exclusive BMW HP2), aluminum fuel tank from the 1198 S Corse, traction control, DDA data acquisition, anti-dribble clutch, lightened Marchesini rims (1 kilo less each) and a big, powerful twin to put it all to the test. The big Testastretta Evoluzione maintains an impressive 170 horsepower for a machine that weighs no more than 200 kilos in the wet.

now the pinnacle of Ducati's Superbike range, this SP is a little gem; but we won't have the unreal R version, with its 180 hp and crazy price tag, to fantasize about.

Too fast too furious
French Model 2011
Sublime mechanics, torque at all revs (nothing to compare with an 848 I've tried), two-wheel elasticity that propels you into the next bend... and what a look! Beautiful

Great, too blue, I've fallen for this Diva. I should be touching her soon and we'll be riding together in the French Superbike Championship (FSBK). I hope to take her to the level she deserves! See my website: www.romain-monticelli.com Rating : 5/5
