presentation of the 1690 SOFTAIL FAT BOY FLSTF 2014
this is certainly the bike that most epitomizes the Harley spirit. Introduced in the 90s, the "big" bike is a hymn to the rebellious post-war era. As its name suggests, everything about the Fat Boy is imposing: wheels (beautiful full rims), forks, optics - a real man's bike. The cinema has also made it legendary: it's no less than Schwarzeneger's mount in Terminator 2. And from 2012, an even bigger engine more than justifies the name. All Softail models, including the Fat Boy, are equipped with the beefy 103 block. This Twin Cam brings 1690 cm3 of displacement, a few more horses, and a nice slice of torque of over 13 mkg. Maximum torque of 132 nm is reached at 3250 rpm. The FLSTF features optimized handlebar curvature for greater comfort and improved ergonomics.
for riding and comfort, wide, low handlebars (like the footrests), seating flush with the cylinder heads; for the eye, authentic looks and gleaming chrome - a true Softail with its rigid sub-frame and pure Harley. The adoption of the 103 B twin-cylinder engine is more in keeping with this big custom than ever. More torque, more power, more "fat" everywhere, as well as smoother vibrations thanks to a balancing weight. That wasn't enough, however, as the Milwaukee beauty has become more rigorous in its handling since 2000. More rigorous rear-end combinations since the switch to the 1450 engine have improved handling over small bumps, and better brakes have significantly calmed the beast. A 200 mm rear tire doesn't make agility any easier, but it does give the "Boy" even more "Fat". Docile thanks to its wide, larger handlebars (which integrate the cabling), you have to be reasonable, as too much angle quickly files the wide running boards. Like virtually all Harley-Davidson models, the Fat Boy is equipped with ABS as standard.
