presentation of the 950 Brutale Oro 2026
On this small planet bursting with life, metal, and confusion, certain names have earned themselves a place in history: VFR, GSX-R, Manx, Bonneville, R1, Monster, Chief, California, and so many others... Let's not get into that, it would take too long to scroll through them all.
Suddenly, our hearts flutter towards one of Italy's most beautiful creations. A roadster that was exceptionally desirable from the moment it was released and is now reinventing itself: the MV-Agusta Brutale!
A little history about it? Quickly then, because we're not going to dwell on the forty or so versions and special editions that have been released since the first episode. Perhaps the purest, the smoothest, the most iconic; designed by the master Massimo Tamburini himself. Released in 2002, the first 750 Brutale was much more than a stripped-down 750 F4 sports bike. It was the most desirable roadster in production.
Renewing desire
The new 950 Brutale draws inspiration from this fantasy to renew a family whose blood is as red as gold. This is how it presents itself, in the ORO version. The name of prestige at MV-Agusta, which accompanies each new model. The assurance of a high-end motorcycle perfumed with noble materials. But let's not disrespect it, let's make some introductions and appreciate its revamped design.
A thing of beauty! That pretty much sums it up. The diva from Schiranna has transformed itself while retaining its identity. It is instantly recognizable, captivating time and reducing the gaze to the sacrifice of desire. Brand new scoops embrace a tank sculpted from muscle, accompanying an even more striking headlight. We applaud the beautiful design work on the rear, with the obvious under-seat storage inherited from the 800 Brutale, the space-age taillight inspired by the 1000 Brutale, and the passenger footrests folded under the frame as on the 800 Dragster.

One pitfall detracts from it. It's a shame, but there was no choice: a notorious gas silencer weighs it down and ruins its knees. The standards are unkind to the paintwork, which finds refuge in three exhaust pipes to let the 3-cylinder engine roar. MV-Agusta has nevertheless managed to perfectly clear the rear wheel and its single-sided swingarm. The conclusion is simple: you can't help but find it beautiful.
A new design for the 3-cylinder engine
This Brutale has fallen in love with a new engine in the family. An engine that is heading for a great career, which it began with the Enduro Veloce trail bike (actually on the premium LXP Orioli version). After bringing thrills (in a good way) to the adventure bike, it is now showing more power to give the Brutale 950 Oro the character it deserves.
This 931cc engine develops 148 horsepower at 11,200 rpm, which is 24 horsepower more than theEnduro Veloce. The torque is also a little stronger (+5 Nm) with 107 Nm / 10.9 mkg at 8,400 rpm. These are maximum values that we will seek higher up in the revs, but it is indeed vigor that we look for in a roadster. Even more so when it bears that name. To achieve this power, MV modified the cylinder head, installed larger valves (made of steel), optimized the combustion chambers, redesigned the intake and exhaust ducts, redesigned the cams, reinforced the valve seats, pistons, and cylinder head gasket, improved the cooling circuits, increased the size of the injection bodies (50 mm), and made the clutch more flexible.

After all that, this counter-rotating crankshaft engine promises plenty of horsepower, low-end torque, and at least 85% of its torque available from 3,500 rpm.
Some will say that this 9.5-liter engine delivers the same power as the F3 800 RR. That's true, but the track bike was well tuned, pushing the engine close to its limits. With its new engine, the manufacturer must still be far from reaching its maximum potential.
New engine, new chassis. It retains the main features of the brand, with its tubular steel trellis frame connected to side plates. However, the design has been revised, and it is now stiffer, lighter, and aims to provide greater precision and control with a more open steering angle and increased wheelbase thanks to the longer swingarm.
There is no doubt that the 950 Brutale should be more efficient. However, one thing bothers us. The frame plates and swingarm are made of aluminum. The old MV-Agusta ORO series flattered the ego with the use of magnesium for these same parts. That was in the past, and we still can't quite get over it. A way to keep the price down? Not so sure when you see the bill.
Should we complain? It won't be easy when you see the Alcantara seats, carbon parts, Termignoni titanium exhausts, Brembo Hypure brakes, and magnificent Öhlins suspension. The Brutale makes you want to own it even before you ride it.

Improvements from top to bottom
The new generation Brutale also features improved ergonomics for the rider, offering both greater comfort and control. The seat is larger and thicker (for the passenger too), the footrests have been repositioned for greater ground clearance, the handlebars have been raised and moved forward for better grip, and the fuel tank is more accommodating for legwork.
Does it need more to set itself apart from its predecessors? It will benefit from their electronic features while adding its own unique touch. So many changes to this Brutale 950:
- A new 5-inch color TFT screen
- Revised graphics and enhanced content
- New handlebar controls
- 5 riding modes (1 more) - Race / Sport / Urban / Rain / Custom (customizable)
- A faster and more responsive shifter
- Recalibrated cornering ABS and 3 modes of action
- New progressive cornering lighting
- New GPS system with location tracking, anti-theft function, and crash detector.
- Electronic aids are still there, such as angle-sensitive traction control and ABS, wheelie control, and engine brake management.

Because the 950 Brutale will only be satisfied when unleashing its dynamism. The horses of Varese are not known for being calm. They will be guided by a fully adjustable NIX 30 inverted fork and Swedish TTX36 shock absorber, forged wheels with reduced inertia, and formidable brakes. The 4-piston Brembo calipers, controlled by a radial master cylinder with automatic bleeding, bite into 320 mm discs. The rear does its job with 2 pistons and a 220 mm disc.
It has managed to keep its weight down. At 195 kg (without fuel), the 950 weighs only one kilo more than the 800 Brutale. The lithium battery and carbon components have played a part in this.
It chooses its level of exclusivity
The divine MV-Agusta 950 Brutale ORO will only be produced in a limited edition of 300. A plaque above the handlebars will remind you of its number in the series. The manufacturer likes to maintain its blend of rarity and exclusivity. As always, the price is substantial—€26,600—yet less steep than usual. The 2002 750 Brutale Oro cost (adjusted for inflation) the equivalent of $50,000. The first 1000 Brutale Oro was priced at $43,000. But can they really be compared? Their destinies, power, and equipment cannot be measured against each other.
More than just a superb roadster, this motorcycle heralds a new era in this family.
