Founded in 1985 in Châtelneuf (Loire, 42) by Gilbert Beringer, a motorcycle enthusiast and sidecar rally driver, Beringer has established itself as a key player in the field of braking systems. From the outset, the French company distinguished itself by developing cast-iron brake discs, a technical innovation that marked its ambition to rival world leaders such as Brembo and Nissin.
Historically focused on sidecars, Beringer decided in 1993 to refocus its activity on the development of complete braking systems. The brand expanded its range to equip the majority of motorcycles, while offering calipers, master cylinders and customized systems. It is also diversifying with solutions for other vehicles, such as quads, buggies, and even aeronautical applications, notably for light aircraft and ULMs.
Its patented Integral Braking System (IBS) guarantees optimum distribution between the front and rear wheels, providing balanced, safe braking. Beringer's expertise and French know-how are also put to good use in prestigious projects: in collaboration with Carbone Industrie, Beringer designed calipers for Formula 1, equipping teams such as Ferrari and Prost Grand Prix for three seasons.
With a complete range of products - machined aluminum monobloc calipers, cast-iron or stainless steel discs, and systems adapted to the requirements of competitors and enthusiasts alike - Beringer freinage has become a benchmark in the two-wheel sector. Its products, designed and manufactured in France, are acclaimed for their performance, reliability, and customizable aesthetics thanks to anodized finishes.
Despite a more discreet presence in major international competitions such as MotoGP, Beringer is making its mark in disciplines such as supermotard, flat-track and custom preparations. The brand embodies a high-end alternative, promoting innovation and quality in the face of the world's braking giants.
Proud of its artisan heritage and local roots, Beringer continues to innovate, with a particular focus on lightness, durability and, above all, safety.
